I really enjoy using my shift, but am having trouble understanding the launching of the app.  Do I use the camera setting or the recognized gimbal setting?

Also is there a way to  make photo your default selection for when you press the "record" button" on the phone?

    Thanks -

    Richard

Hey Richard, that is a great question. You want to use the recognized gimbal setting. With the recognized gimbal setting, you can use the handle to switch back and forth between picture and video. You can also control the zoom/shutter from the handle in this setting.

With the camera setting you can use a wireless remote to control the gimbal instead of using the handle to control it. The gimbal can only be connected to one bluetooth device at a time.

There is no way to make "photo" the default selection for the "record" button.  I hope this clears things up for you. The link below will show you how to connect your phone to the gimbal.

    Hi all,

Just got the EVO Shift in my hands this evening and I must say it is quite the little gimbal. I have read the manual and gone through the videos to get a better feel for the unit and all the tricks it has up its sleeve. I did come across one thing that is throwing me for a loop and I am hoping someone can help me with. I am using a Samsung S8+ with the Shift. I have downloaded the remote app and paired the phone up with the gimbal. I was going through the features of the app and noticed under the resolution it only lists 1280x720 at 30fps or 1920x1080 at 30fps. Is there no 4K support in this app?

@Scott Ferrell Our gimbal can support 4K with most phones, but we have found some features of our APP are not fully compatible with all Android phones. We are working on a new APP update in hopes of making our app uniform across Android phones. However, for now the options seen are the only ones available.

I have had my EVO Shift for a week now and I am very happy with it except for three things. I have a Samsung S5 Neo and the APP does not allow me to do the following:

    1. Activate the object follow setting.
    2. Export my photos/videos to my gallery so I can not share them.

The third thing is the gimbal could have used a wrist strap for extra security.

I bought this for a family vacation so I hope I can get the two settings for the APP sorted.

@ Mark Our gimbals are now powered by the same core architecture as our technology partner’s app “ZY Play” by Zhiyun. At this time you can use the ZY Play app with our gimbals which has fixed the object tracking issue. Please watch this tutorial video on getting the most out of object tracking: https://youtu.be/5ea_nytdAmI. Also, for android phones the footage is automatically saved to your phone in a new folder that should be titled "ZY Play". However, you do want to ensure to have given the app full permissions; otherwise, the it won't have access to save on your phone.

Thank you very much. Alana also answered the question and the ZY Play app is working fine. It has crashed on me once and some of the settings are not in English but I understand software development so I can wait for that. Cheers.
