EVO SS TimeLapse points selection requiring higher firmware
Hello, I'm trying to set up a motion timelapse on my brand new EVO SS, without success.
- Power up the gimbal
- Launch the EVO Gimbals app on my Android phone
- Select Connect to Device
- Switch to Video mode
- Select Moving Time Lapse
- Select first point...
- Get error message: "need firmware above 1.60"
EVO Gimbals website seems to have only 1.50 or 1.51 firmwares available for download.
What should I do?
Thank you,
Vincent.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your continued patience. We are working with our software team to get this APP glitch fixed and will be releasing a new update to resolve those issue. It is taking us longer than anticipated, but hope to have it out soon.

I agree, just bought one of these great devices and wanted to use the timelapse functionality too and found the app still does the same thing. It's like the programmers are attempting to check a certain product to make sure it has the right firmware version, but may not be considering all the products that may already have the functionality.

Hi there. Just spoke with Noemi and she informed me that EVO is in the process of partnering with ZHIYUN for the software portion of their products (did I get that right?). Therefore, the EVO SS can be controlled by the ZY PLAY app from ZHIYUN in Google Play. Apparently this ZY PLAY app fixes some bugs they had in the EVO REMOTE app. I just downloaded the app from ZHIYUN and will try it out as soon as possible. Finger crossed.

Alright, it didn't work. The Zhiyun app (ZY Play) returns the same exact message when I try to set the motion time lapse second point: "firmware 1.60 at least". Disappointing.
However, I just discovered that firmware 1.52 was released for the Evo SS on 8/18/2018, mine currently runs the 1.51. Still not the "1.60" as required but at that point I have no other solution so I will update.
Now I must dig out my old windows computer since the calibration tool is apple or windows only (I'm Chromebook user). But that's another story...
